i'm surprised its back in the water, it was well and truly beached 10 days ago and had massive bites out of it then.
It was busy today with a few guys on a fairly ****ty bank near where the whale was.

That is just silly, id suggest really that surfing near a dead whale is not the smartest thing to do..

I surfed yesterday morning at Gunna before I knew about it. There have been no real reports other than this one in the Age online so I don't think people are aware of it to be honest JB.

Now if it was in WA the whole world would know.

It was at Miami and they had signs at the top of the track warning people to stay away from it.

If it was in WA some dreadlock headed freak would have been ontop of it.

If no one has any idea than yeah it makes it a bit hard. We had one locally for me washed up on a beach and it was also not notified by the local authorities. I also read about it in the local paper. When i are challenged the authorities (in this case SLSWA) they said it was not really that important as the beaches weren't that busy..

Its a real public safety issue and its not taken too seriously by those in power. The farcical of the last two weeks shows that IMHO
