Anyone know where I can get my hands on some UV curing catalyst or UV curing resin (if that exists already mixed?) in the Perth area? Im a bit over using the normal stuff, just for fixing dings, I like the idea of getting it right then taking it out into the sun for it to cure.

I think the company is called Soltek but open to any brand of the same spec?

Solares, most surf shops sell it in a small or large tube.

Its great for small dings

Sorry Doggie, should have clarified, not the fibre filled resin for small dings (have a tube of that in the surf bag though - trip saver!) but just the resin for laminating that is set off by putting it in the light.

I can get it online but thought it would be easier to grab it from a local supplier. The UV catalyst or UV resin will make my ding repairs idiot proof! Obviously if there is no sunlight out will make it hard and I would have to use the standard catalyst if in a hurry anyway.

Colin Earle/Surf supplies sells 200ml tins of the UV sunbake catalyst, good stuff for laminating but I'm not a fan for filling as I find it doesn't make enough heat and can result in a real waxy hard to sand finish. Doesn't really need that much sunlight any daylight will basically do, you need to work with it in a room with all the windows blacked out or it will go off. Whatever you do don't use it with any kind of colouring. Only prob really is that 200ml is heaps and you'll never use it all.

Hey Chris, If you bring a small container, not much bigger than a thimble(you might need to google that!), we could spare some.

Trust these guys they also sell it as a tub as part of a repair kit. Cheers for the patches of fibreglass with my repair kit! Can't say the same about my repair though

the wax is not the problem in uv filler resin just the way it is exposed to sunlight .
