Is anyone else here sick of the Red and Yellow Budgie Smuggler types erecting the flags right where the best peak on the beach is, where surfers were there first(Daybreak)?
It's not like there is a shortage of beach with no rips...

I'm in Perth and think it they are either:
1. Rude
2. Trying to piss us off deliberately
3. Ignorant

Anyone know what the penalty is for ignoring them if they keep this up?

They have the power to confiscate your board

Yeah that might break my cool a bit...I try and be reasonable but these kooks need to have respect. I was there from 7am and then when it started getting really good they shut down the peak...wtf?

Frustrated the hell out of me a few weeks back when I made the effort to get up at 5:30am for the early mid week. In the water at 5:50... 6:15 a sole swimmer goes out and up go the flags and out comes the bull-horn... it was the only decent peak along the whole km of beach... bunched about 15 of us surfers on a straight hander close-out...

That is what I'm talking about. I want to organise surfers to fight this crap.
I know we are a mellow bunch, but we have a right to the water too.
It's not like the prats can appreciate the good peaks anyway.

so if the swimmers must swim between the flags how come they dont get the horn when in the surf zone,i've fin chopped a few-LOL!

The flags are always in the exact same place at 2nds. It does seem to have a decent right hand bank at this time of year right where the flags are. Oh well, at least they're consistent. Generally I haven't had a problem with the clubbies (anywhere).

Yeh I know its easy to bag the clubbies out and it can be frustraiting . At the end of the day there is nothing you can do about thier positioning of the flags. IMO they do a bloody good job and when things go pear shaped they'll be the ones who you are looking for.
Time to surf somewhere else mate.....
