Thoughts.......anyone

Informed debate or ch7 propaganda

I'm leaning towards the propaganda fear mongering option, but I did like Mrs Edwards ?..
"Is there anyone here that would give the swimmer some rights over the shark!"

Was that you Suba that Monika tried to tear a new one for.?

Ha, didn't even watch it. Saw the ad, rolled my eyes and had more important things to do.

There was no debate, and it was certainly not great!

My wife and I watched it and she commented how lame it was... it could have been good given the mixed panel of people they had there, but was probably edited to buggery to fit in the 1/2 hour slot...

The above is a interesting point of view regarding sharks, and live export. I always thought it high fetched but after reading it i think thier could be something

"Shark experts" who need more government funding because we know so little about sharks. Humanitarians who have little regard for human life. And a BS online poll portrayed to be a majority of Australian people against shark culling that I voted in favor of while I was in Japan.

Not to mention the terminology used, "shark cull" is misleading. As there is no planned shark cull, just a change in regulatory law that enables people to save a life if a shark looks to be threatening human life. As demonstrated "live" where some people were not leaving the shallows when informed there was a shark off the coast. The shark was not culled.

I don't think the people given the role to take action will respond until some poor person has already been attacked. They'll be as effective as the people given a ton of money to tag sharks, who failed to tag one shark. Yep handy fricken phone app thats gonna be attached too. This situation infuriates me, great white shark protection makes no sense at all. Clearly they are not endangered. Its just become some kinda marine biologist wankathon in the hopes of sustaining the dream job of wasting more tax payers money.

At the end of the day we don't truly know why there is an apparent increase in population of GWs in WA. A 'scientific study' does not equal fact, a point exemplified by the global warming debate. For every scientist and study that demonstrates global warming does exist, there is another that is contradictory. Joe Public don't really know whether the planet is warming up and they don't know why there are more sharks. But at the end of the day there comes a point when there are enough fatalities from shark attacks that you have to start considering things like culling.
