I'm a FIREWIRE fan ... unless I can get the same quality and durability from an Aussie maker.

As doggie said, look at Josh Dowling's boards. Aussie maker, essentially the same thing as a Firewire but custom.

Josh actually helped get Firewire into production as a technical employee. His boards are great and use the same technologies.

Yeah, I'm reasonably familiar with the whole "Days of our Lives" story. Didn't we pm something about this? Like sands through the hourglass ...

There's also Steve Del Rosso/Clearwater. Does he even come back to Perth any more? For a while after BB left town I seem to recall SDR was BB's recommended guy for compsand repairs etc. I did see something recently about Clearwater having a closing down or moving sale ...

Legion, perhaps I was not speaking to you... The JD reference may have been for others not already convinced by Josh's genius and background.....

Does he have a ghost shaper here or does he shape from the east and send to the shop?

I often wonder why the big players as mentioned have never tapped into the learner market
Companies like NSP and BIC are probably making a lot more money than the top shapers by flooding the kook market
I'm sure Base could have done the same
I know every time a friend who wants to start surfing asks for board advice I send them in the NSP direction
Probably wouldn't have looked good in the Base marketing department having a few Euros learning to stand rather than Fanning killing it Indo but it would have been good business
