Just purchased a TRUNQ box for all my surfing gear and i am very impressed.
It has a nifty removable top tray that is ideal for all your wax , fins , sunscreen ect which does a great job at keeping things organised and your wax sand free.
Plenty of room in the bottom for your wetties , rashies , boardies. Just fill the tub up with water and soak your gear before you hang it out .
Also comes with a change mat to also help keep the sand at bay.
It is not cheap but will last alot longer than your Bunnings plastic tub and is lockable via a cable lock.
After owning numerous cheap plastic tubs i was a little hesitant to spend the money on one of these but now i am glad i did.
Great piece of kit.

I can't remember how old my plastic Bunnings tub is, but I already had it when I got my current car.... in 1997.

That's at least 14 years of carrying a variety of damp smelly wetsuits, dive belts, gidgy heads, screwdrivers, surfboard fins, gutted fish, etc...

It has been smashing around in the back of my 4WD for 14 years and it's still as good as the day I bought it.

what is a Sports Utility? is that like an SUV? or does it mean it can be utilised for a variety of sports? that's a flash looking box, makes my Bunnings crate look like crap, DL you're living in the past how could you not want one of these, it has a lockable lid, a lockable lid!!!

I got a 20 litre drum I found on the beach.

Costs nothing. Cut the side off, keep the handle on the end, just about perfect.

Lasted me 9 years so far. Who knows how long it was floating about in the ocean for.

In fact it probably held the chemicals that the TRUNQ was made out of.

It doesn't have a lockable lid, but I solve that by having a lockable car. This also means my boards are locked up. And my car is locked up. And everything else in my car is locked up. A handy solution I think you will find.

And it is green, not some boring not quite black colour.

If you want one go down to the beach and walk along the high tide mark, or go round the back of the TRUNQ factory and pull one out of their waste bin.

thanks Carontoc I was suffering all day with box envy until I read your post, as there is no surf I can know spend some time wandering the beach looking for a replacement, where is the Trunq factory? If I don't find anything on the beach I may be forced into petty theft, btw they cost $50 plus shipping.

You could try driving up and down the freeway too Bakesy. I picked up one of those big flexible 30(ish) litre buckets with the handles to store my wet sandy crap around the Como area so I'd suggest that you avoid that stretch as the chances of it happening again in the same place would be lessened. Miles of freeway verge left for you to strike it lucky though.
Or if you really wanted to you could go to red Dot and pick one up for five bucks.

I bet this bloke has a carbon paddle for his stand up canoe too

got one of those, missus bought 3 for the laundry but I noticed it's capabilities right away, stores wetsuits,fins,towels and water bottle... amazing, but Smicko it's not lockable, I feel the Trunq will complete me, I saw some youths near my car the other day and wished that my 5 dollar bucket and my 10 year old crate could be more secure, perhaps it's back to lombok, plenty of stuff washed up there! I bet he also has an expensive system for ensuring his wettie is sand free and secure...
