Sometimes when I'm feeling lazy first thing in the morning I'll click on swellnet surf report to read the dawn surf report.
I clicked on it this morning and it wouldn't allow me unless I paid the monthly subscription
Have to pay for that privilege now to read a surf report before 9am
It seems like the whole world is out to extract every last penny out of you.
Oh well, time to stop being lazy and go down and check the waves myself

I'm pretty sure that the guy that does my local report just looks at the online cameras while he's in bed and makes it up from there. Never really accurate. The long range forecast from Ben is generally pretty good though.

The poor got shafted again..the rich don't surf before 9 am or on weekends

If you're in WA you can still get the report for free if you use the app (before and after 9am).

I'm sure this won't last though.

And it is fair to say the accuracy of the report is a little sketchy.

I see what they are trying to do in moving away from add dollars Hope for there sake it works.

SRO surf report was maybe the worst one ever.

take readers away from the money grabbers ie swellnet and provide a FREE detailed surf report yourself (similar to Ben's)

Then again I too would rather get down their and look myself, earlybird gets the worm!

I liked the free swellnet report, it's epic if you know what the surfs doing as they write things that lure all the punters to "key breaks"
My favourite lines when I knew I'd score my waves alone were things like.

Trigg point is looking good

waves on the beachies looking good

I especially like the wind calls cause it seems to me no one reads a chart anymore,,,, yeah it's sse now but looking to clean up in the arvo.....hahahaha

i will give a detailed daily report for free however it will be lies and deliberately misleading.

if anyone in Perth remembers the old Kim Clift report you would ring up he used to say , yeah it's knee to waist when it was pumping with good banks and as soon as it was knee height he would say things like, yeah definitely picking up well worth a paddle etc etc.
My favourite ever surfs at trigg as a kid was when the one surf report in town said , yeah it's knee height and pretty straight down here, you would surf the point head height with ten people out there with mr surf report himself.

I learnt as a kid pretty fast there is no taking a surf report from a surfer and expecting an honest answer

The Swellnet app still has everything for free

It sucks having to pay.

Just need to get sea breeze to set up a WAM chart please.
