Does anybody have any experience with the Streetboardz Dragon, Carver with C7 trucks, or SmoothStar skateboards? I currently just skate a traditional board on the flat days, so was wondering whether these boards would have any additional benefit.

Quite like the look of the Streetboardz Dragon but $320 is a lot to drop for a skateboard.

Especially if you have plenty of concrete nearby

man i went on ebay and got a zflex but the old school wide tail ones it has a pic of a bull on it good for cruisin or a couple old school 50-50 grinds with the odd deck slide and lost bark thrown in for free.
80 bucks
80bucks yeeow changed the bearings to nachi reds (20bucks)
100bucks and i fly good value and a pretty good product especially if its part time or reliving ya youth (sadly like me)
best part is doing the bearing upgrade in front of the kids.....im a skateboard scientist

I would give Eddie down at shednine surf skate rye a call, he has a heap of skateboards, he might be the largest skate shop in vic.

There are some boards designed specifically for surf training.
Think Smooth star is the surf one.

Bought a carver da monsta c7 trucks about month ago. Great fun, good for pumping, tailslides, 180slides, and really tight turns(depends on what length/model you get).
Have ridin it on footpaths, driveways and skateparks, (quarter pipes, and small half pipes).
Haven't ridden my sector 9 longboard since I got it.
Really enjoy especially as it gives me something to muck around when my kids are learning to ride their own skateboards. Well that's my excuse anyway.

I was looking at the Monster Yabbin as it looked a lot easier to generate your own speed without pushing off, the Streetboardz seem to require more of a surfing technique, but you need a hill as the instability in the board makes it difficult to push off apparently?

To date, the streetboardz I've enjoyed the most. Definately require more of a surfing technique and a bit of a slope to get going. It feels like you're pumping a lot of the time and turns also feel more wide arcing when you compare to actually being in the water. Tbh I'd recommend going as short as possible with those boards. The big tired ones are useless in real day use. The inbetween are ok if you're a bigger lad but grab the shorter skateboards for a looser feel unless you're using them also to commute etc.

Waveless are you saying the Streetboardz Pool Bomb 31" (its a traditional skateboard deck) in better than the Dragon 34"?

Yeah you can definately start pumping the carver da monsta from a standing start to get going, however top speed is not as high as the longer boards but they can't turn as tight or pump from a standing start.
I was unable to demo anything due to where I live, I looked at all the clips on YouTube and thought that the carver's where more versatile and fun overall ( smoothstar is pretty similar to I believe)
I was very unsure about what size to get especially as all the sizing guides recommend a bigger size than I got. So glad I got da monsta size, definately have no regrets, great fun all round. Feels weird riding my normal skateboard now.
