I seen a magic day up there once and surfed for a few hours on a rising swell, by mid afternoon I didn't want a bar of it and it was the biggest I've seen in ten years of doing the annual pilgrimage.i spent the afternoon revelling in my self loathing and without a doubt witnessed the best surfing I have ever seen anywhere anytime.
Camel was out there with a few of the local lads and at least 5-6 off the top 44 in the world at the time and were up there spent the afternoon hiding, this alleviated some of the self hate I had developed during the viewing, between that and a nicely rolled piece of the devils lettuce helped me actually enjoy the gladiator show I was witnessing.
I seen a snapped leg and a man who was more reef cuts than skin, I seen snapped boards and humans lying on the rocky shoreline gasping for oxygen.... I also seen the best barrel ever get ridden and made, the above was not it but it was the same man.

Its a 666, no wait its...oh an alaia getting some nice bazz action

PS ummm huge waves may not be so huge for every beholder...pretty cool though

Always wanted to go here when I was 25 and it was just starting to hit public awareness. Then they stuffed the waves. Shame.
