Forced leave over the Xmas break has me looking for a cheap surfing destination to get away from Australia... a guy from work is recommending Sumbawa but I understand the best time to go is closer to the middle of the year. Has anyone been over there in Dec / Jan and can let me know what the waves are like?

Couple of my mates went every year during uni break around that time. They got heaps of waves so they said anyway.

It could nt be any worse that around hear although the south west isnt a bad option.

Just saw your in NSW might be a bit far to drive to the south west.

From your side of the country I'd be looking towards PNG.
