Still just a concept but have my doubts on this. Most of the wave garden creations so far look a bit pissweak so will this be any different? For the dollars spent a few flowriders could prob be built, maybe a left and a right and a cruisy straighthander to cater for all.

Just think, the next generation of surfers won't be able to read the ocean...

With luck it will keep the crowds down at real breaks.

Maybe it will get built somewhere in WA, but I very much doubt it will be Subiaco.

Barnet is wanting to sell the land for housing. So sadly i can't see it happening

^ lol just like the Govt did with the old school sites in the western suburbs. Now we have an "unprecedented" overflow at Shenton and need to build a new school.

Imagine the carnage at the beach when the pool is down for the weekend in summer in years to come!

I fail to see how Trigg point could become any worse both as a wave and for the number of people

I'm blown away by how much whinging I've heard about Perth maybe investing in a wave park considering that trig point/ Perth beachies once got voted worst surf spot in Australia
And having spent some time there I wouldn't argue with that call
Imagine having waves everyday instead of driving three hours to piss off the Sth west when it's flat

True that, especially considering it will be privately funded. The best comments are "waste of money when perth already has great beaches for surfing" hahaha

There is a more chance of me waking up sandwhched between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift than this happening....I would however love to be proved wrong on either of these

Unfortunately it won't happen because Col has Subi earmarked for property sale meaning BIG $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ more than providing leisure activities for the plebs!!!!

Where are they going to get the water from? Would need a lot more than say a 50m swimming pool.

Not going to happen.

Col can still sell the land. He sells it to the developer of the wave park. The proposal includes apartments and hospitality construction along side the pool itself.

My guess is the Perth licensee of wavegarden is using this for free publicity to gain support to at least get it built somewhere in WA, which is pretty smart move really.

Have to agree that it will never happen
WA government has absolutely no foresight
Two lane highway heading in and out of the city
No trains to the airport
Turn the drop off lane at the airport into a single lane and congest the road in for miles back
Waste billions of dollars from the mining royalties
Put an artificial reef where there's no swell
You get the picture

Prob $50 for ten waves over two hours, half of which the crew jump/ paddle onto then fall off in the first five metres cause they hadn't spent enough time paddling into the closeouts at the beach as practice. Thought I'd throw a bit of neg (reality) in..
