Probably because Terrible Terrigal is a ****hole

Seriously though give the young fellas a break chaps...at least they posted something and tried to have a crack at contributing. Its no wonder hardly anyone bothers around here anymore if you are just going to red thumb people for having a go and trying to instigate some chat. Think how boring this room would be with hardly anyone contributing (no pun intended)..................you all come into the room to look at new stuff and then when it appears from a new angle you behave like a bunch of 4 year olds who dropped their play lunch....maybe if you showed some encouragement they may even post again. Or maybe it would encourage others to post and then before you know it you may even have an online community that actually participates.

Thread title is confusing.

Poor music: Check
Cheap camera: Check
Non fluidhead tripod: Check
Average waves: Check
Teen surfers: Check

Entertaining and worth watching for what it is: CHECK

I love seeing guys getting out there and making videos; myself included ofcourse
People shouldn't leave it to the pros shooting on 35mm and RED EPIC cameras with massive budgets and big name surfers. I love watching crummy home made vids of everyday surfers cutting up waves as much as I enjoy watching Castles in the Sky and Corona ads.

the tripod shake was due to me filming in the rain and holding an umbrella in the opposite hand and the video looks poor quality due to an effect i went for on final cut but thank you for the criticism.

Looks like the boys were having a ball mate, sometimes the home grown footage of blokes having a laugh and a good time is easier to relate to than the super clear, pro, edited, silky smooth footage of pro's punting huge airs in the Ments or Hawaii

Careful there WA71, they are a sensitive lot in there and might just take offence with that observation (criticism). Also as members of GenY these intrepid film makers are to be told ONLY positive things, Suba was spot on, make several accurate observations that may be seen as critical/negative but end on a positive note, they hear that bit as it was the one positive comment. As a maker of dodgy films that have featured on this site I feel I can comment on this, Suba once hurt my feelings by saying that a film I made was done using a TOASTER. It took many weeks for me to recover from than that, my feelings of self worth were undermined and I lost confidence in my ability to make films, but then I realised that he was a douchebag and I was awesome I've also been abused via PM for some of my films, this also affected my emotional wellbeing.

But your films were recorded using a toaster, weren't they? ;)

As for receiving abusive PMs about your films....really? Why would people take offence?

Speaking of filming; that's my plan for the afternoon.

is it wise to have a gas stove at the rear of a vehicle and btw what is this vehicle? ute, station wagon or a seppo pickup? The comments received via PM alluded to the revealing of a wave that many considered secret, some included helpful hints for using a toaster as a camera, some included advice on where that toaster could be placed on my body

Mid 80s turbo diesel 4runner.

As for the gas stove....why wouldn't it be safe? Cars drive around with LPG tanks sitting down where the tow bar is ;)

ahh the 4skinner, just thinking about the gas bottle being chucked towards you in the event of a rear ender from a truck! I trust you affixed it with more than an occy strap or gaffer tape

It is a well put together rig :p

I was hit in the back of the head in my old 70's land rover when a fire extinguisher became detached. Lesson learned

Haha some people must have really boring lives if they can take time out of their day to send abusive PM's

Out of curiosity did you have the toaster filming when you tried to squeeze it were ever it was suggested
