Help me catch these scum - must have been "surfers" - car park was packed.

I was there a fortnight ago and someone watched where I hid my keys, used them to open the car, took all my cash out of my wallet and centre console (bout $50-$60), then locked the car back up and put the keys back. I had 3 boards in the car but they weren't interested in them. If it's the same thieves (probably is) keep on the lookout for crew without boards hanging around around in the carpark, I have my suspicions who it is already.

Yep, that sounds like the same scumbag/s. Left boards behind, my mates wallet behind(took the cash), left his phone and mp3. My wallet and phone were in the camera bag. We didn't even know we'd been rolled until we got back to Safety Bay.Love to know who you think it may be, or if you can't tell me that, local or Metro so I know which Cashies to try. It's pretty distinctive camera gear and will turn up somewhere. Hopefully that will be their undoing. May be time to set up a sting in the carpark and do some percussive maintenance. Watch for anyone parked down the road a bit crew, I reckon that's where they must have been so they could watch the whole carpark. Anyone watching the surf from the top of the hill for long periods could be the spotter for the other thief. Anyone else been done up?

Well there was this guy hanging around in the carpark being a bit of a weirdo, pretty sure he was just a scabby hippy but he was giving me the eye a bit when I was getting ready, had cropped hair with a long rats tail, driving a white van. You see him there by any chance? Pure speculation on my part though.

No, but thanks for the info, I have added it to the Police report. You never know, they may have seen him before. Got plenty of feelers out by lots of generous people (SRO has it on their surf repot header, for example), just hope it's not sold to a traveller. Thanks again DJMWA.
