Hi,

Im headed over to Bali in september this year this will be my sixth time. Ive surfed bingin, impossibles, ulus etc. Im an intermediate surfer about 85kgs. Ive currently got a Channel Islands dumpster diver (5'10) and a neck beard (5'8) however these arent going to be suited to the conditions i use to have a 6'1 custom that i sold that i use to take to Bali that went ok.

However i want something that is going to handle the punch in the waves, fast and also have the volume so i dont feel like im going from my full shaped boards to a stick which is how i felt on my 6'1, wont be surfing in anything over 5-6ft.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I'd take a 6'0 and a 6'6 but that's two new ones.

If you just want one board, you could take the DD and add an alternative rocker shortboard like the Rusty board mentioned or Simon does a good one:

The traveller looks good, i really like the look of the nose of the board being a little wider just not sure on the pin square tail :S

Defo go a pin tail for waves over four foot in Bali. Rusty traveller is a great board, a couple of my mates have them and rate them

Rounded-pin all the way. Feels so good in good waves, holds tight in the pocket.

Beating a dead horse now, but I'll echo the previous sentiments.
Definitely got with a pin tail if you plan on hitting the bigger stuff. I surfed a very small squash tail at Padang Padang on a larger day (not huge mind you) and was made to regret it.
