very popular over this way...normally for a good cause with money raised going to charity. It generally works for most people - those who have boards lying around and those who want to get something on the cheap or just happen to be passing by. Fingers crossed its a nice day and everyone is stoked.
From 11am to 5pm (did she say 5?) $10 bucks a bay which goes to some surf team or some such. Get the breezers together and share a bay. Saved money = BEER, after all!
I had a look late in the afternoon -around 3 - and there were some interesting boards on offer as well as some bargains to be had. Unfortunately I was not in a position to buy otherwise one of the Star mini Simmons or JS Pier Ponies that were on special might have found a new home
Yep, the place was jumping from 11am. New boards running out the door. Struggled to offload an unused board of mine, but got some mullah for it eventually. Twas fairly interesting.
I got there after 12:30, didn't buy anything as I guess all the real bargains might have already been snapped up.
They had a tonne of retro boards and old single fins, a rack of superseded JS models with $1-200 knocked off the price and a heap of softboards/SUPs, Star Surfboards and some old trade-ins.
They must have been doing well, as I went for a beer afterwards at the Belgian and there was a steady stream of happy punters strolling along Murray street with new sleds under their arms.
