Going to get the 8 year old into it this Summer.

Any recommendations on a soft board for him (that I can steal as well on the odd occassion) and where to get it ?

They seem to pop up a lot on gumtree mate. That's the first place to look.

Star boards are a bit thicker and easy to surf as a adult. My kids used the Elnino and loved them. They really don't turn though just like to go straight. Don't ever let them put it in the pool though. My boys just delaminated from the inside out

Both are just as good IMHO

I have a 7 foot star board, tried it in head high Dunes

Not the greatest turning board but got a few nice ones, early take offs are gold.

best one i came across

was mactavish soft top - surftech i think

soft grippy deck and rails
smooth epoxy bottom

mini mal shape

i surfed it at kuta reef

saw 2 kids learn and progress, sold it to b-in-law - a few scuffs but very durable too

My ever growin who still surfs the internet much more than waves....6ft star softy is way to small, I can feel it flex n flobber along on waves it would suit smaller groms. It's available if some one wants it JJD.??
Took it to bali to hand over to an old friend beach boy/bar/surfboard rental on legian but he's moved on

Would rather see it used than sit in my study doin nuthin

Got ever growin a bigger one on eBay 7ft BILLOW WITH STRINGER heaps better more rigid than old flobber wobbler

Not a good sales pitch eh
