Snapper has been really good and really crowded.
over the last week or so the southerlies have generated dream conditions.
it is NOT a secret spot the crew full length of the bank have been many.
Patience rewards didn't get the biggest but enjoyed some beauty's.
Until a learner on a mal dropped in on a surfer fully pitted for the ride of his life.
This f'wit with no idea would have killed me if I hadn't dived. The blunt leading edge of his fin smashed into my leg.
no apology no care.
my fault I knew it was crowded my mind set was if I get a car park close I'll paddle out.
please if you've just mastered paddling then clean 3 - 4' snapper is not the place to start working on how to stand.

Thanks for the vid. The bank doesn't look as good as it was in October. Snapper at that size is just built for fun. Shame about the brutal snaking, drop in crowds that refuse to look left. One of the problems is it is such a soft wave that it is not beyond the ability of most average surfers to paddle out there without fear of a decent flogging. It needs a good dose of steroids to put some meat on its bones and stop it being such a fluffy bunny. That might empty the lineup a bit......aaaahhh, I can dream can't I?

I actually think it is a perfect learners wave because of its gentleness. It's unfortunate they are there in such numbers and with the already bursting population of barrel masters like the OP. I wonder where he surfed when he was learning?

Mate I completely agree. If its not hipsters on mals with no leggies its SUPs getting caught inside and terrifying the lineup. 5 people deep along the takeoff...

safer on the beachies.
