Agree. The problem definitely is the idiots without any motorcycling experience (and normally without a helmet for that matter) getting on the squirt and suddenly thinking they are Casey Stoner.
There is a method to the madness over there and if you do take it easy, I think it is reasonably safe.
(That doesn't mean I wouldn't go in the future uninsured. But with an IDP, a motorcycle license here, the right policy and a helmet, you are covered).
