Hey guys, my local just got some of these in.
http://www.rusty.com/au/products/category/surfboards-au/S-Series-au

I've been looking for a shortboard suitable for Perth's mushy small surf. Anyone got one of these, read any reviews or anything?

It's either this or get Len Dibben to make me something

yeah Suba my mate mate surfs one of these. exact dimensions no idea, but it seems to work really well, or try Steve Del rosso at clearwater surfboards, ask for a cobbler model, they go even better...

sure did :p
Mocean Surf on Canning Highway just got a bunch in today and getting heaps more soon. New owner and the guy was really helpful and friendly. Figured I'd buy it through them.

Just gotta put aside the cash :p All my boards up until now have been second hand haha

Yeah I've got a 6'0" which is good fun on the beaches. Rode it last year at Legian and had a blast, however the glass job is very average as it's got heaps of foot dents around the tail. I actually snapped it at Legian but Wade up in Lano has put it back together for me. Still surfs pretty well...

The outline is very similar to a Channel Islands Pod and I think you'll find the specs are pretty close as well, however the Pod has a very full "boxy" type of rail whereas the Stump has a more rolled style rail like a performance shorty.

So many options out there...

I bought a Dibben once, had to get out a second mortgage on the house.

I got a Mollusc Robo from SA. Goes well in anything.

I was afraid of this
Can't really fork out much cash on surfing these days as I'm studying Marine Science in August and will be a student bum. Gotta hold onto as much cash as I can...although got a few Bali trips going this year

You guys got any local shapers that you swear by and would recommend? I've always loved the idea of getting a board made for me but have NO idea what so ever as to how much it could cost me.

Hey Suba,

Some guys like Steve Del Rosso's shapes. My wife has a7'2 thruster from him and she seems to like it.

Have a look at Diverse Surfboards and Base Surfboards over east. I have a board from each of these guys and they go very well. shaped here in OZ

My Mollusc Robo from Base coast me $777 to my door

My Diverse 6'10 cost me 750 to my door in 2008. full custom made.

I dont miss my student days good onya

Just got a "friendly salmon" from Blake at Panda Surfboards (http://pandasurfboards.com/boards/#) on the east coast. The board is ridiculous. Its so fast and turns on a dime in the slop. The shape is kind of a cross between a merrick dumpster diver and a lost rocket. Cost $730 all up delivered to my door. i wanted something like a dumster diver but wanted to put the money in an aussies pocket. Couldn't be happier with the result.

Would recommend gettin a custom. I personally will not be buying another board of the rack. You get exactly what you want and you can tweak your boards slightly depending on what you like or dislike. Personally i dont like lens boards. If you want to go through a local guy Steve Del Rosso is your man. Just drop into the shop in Secret Harbour to place an order. Also consider Dave Mannion (dmd), Chapstar, Grubb or Dave Mac in Yallingup. If you have your heart set on a Rusty you can order them custom as well through Mocean.
