Here is the link to the live stream.

There is a bit of swell around and they should run heats for the next two days but the winds are coming up after that so a few lay days are predicted.

Kelly only needs to get through the 3rd round to claim his 11th world title.
I'm pretty sure he's got it locked in.

Some nice little barrels on day one.. wasn't sure what to expect surf wise, I'm hoping the conditions stay clean for day two -at least the morning.

EDIT: anybody else see the interview with Dusty Panye regarding seeing a shark?

yeah he was pretty spooked. The next heat didn't care though, they just paddled straight out.

I'm a bit disappointed with the quality of the broadcast for this event so far. They have had so many technical dificuties with sound and the cameramen havn't been on their game to see things live, you only get to see it in replays (i know thats being picky). Im sure though that as it was day 1 they will iron out all the kinks.

I must say though that the heat control feature is really good though

Bring on Day 2!

Just curious as I'm not the most knowledgeable on surf breaks across the globe but if you could pick a spot to host next years 'search' who would you pick?

There was a massive thread about that a few years ago, everyone cried and spewed, red thumbed, flamed, burned and petitioned ect ect. Not even worth thinking about it, much to my dismay
That was the reason for my little jab, Ry Craiks old man campained heavily for it not to happen.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Medina handles Pipeline, more so if it gets big... also will Bruce Irons get a wildcard to the event, will we be seeing him?

I hope Bruce surfs pipe.

Yea that will be interesting Kaz but I saw some footage of him last night doing some massive turns, I think he is a very rounded surfer. He is alot better than his age would have you believe imo.
