Buttons is one of the very few that after watching him surf, you want to go surfing yourself

Apparently Slater used to study Buttons surfing when he was little
You can definitely see the same lines
I think I even spotted the famous Kelly nose blow claim

Wow.soo sad. I got to surf with him and a guy named mark liddel at velzyland and alamoana back in the early eighties. They were nice guys and buttons always smiling. Loved the ocean....sad....
