I'm probably not the right guy to ask at 16 we used to skip out of school for the afternoon and hit up the music festival at the Uni that was once a year. (and go to the strip club at lunch, ah good old catholic school up bringing)

Though this is the age where your going to have to start to trust that they'll use their judgement and make the right call. I say give him the trust and let him go but tell him that your leting him go cause you trust him and if he takes it for granted you not picking him up from the clink till the next morning and he's grounded. (that's what my dad did thank god I never ended up in the clink)

PS @ 16 if he hasn't made the call on sex and drugs yet he will anyways - remember what it was like when you where 16
