I think some people are experimenting with boards that can almost be ridden both ways, forward and backwards. I've seen it on a dvd, I think it was a lost dvd. The pros are doing so many air 180s and 'passion pops' that they're pushing the limits by wanting more control when landing backwards. I've said all this with no knowledge at all though! But that's what I reckon could explain the board.

Minus the extra fins, looks similar to a board I have :P
