Hiyaz...I've always flown Garuda to Bali, but considering Jetstar coz missus is headed to a different country. I'm headed to Bali for the dates she is headed to for her destination...Jetstar have flights very close to my missus flights.

Is the size limit 1.9m (6'2) in a surfboard bag...like say max board size 6'1...havn't found anything concrete online. Would be great to hear from people who have flown Jetstar Perth to Bali. Other states may use different plane models/rules.

Air Asia were pretty good. Except for their meal... 3X1/3 sandwiches...without crusts. 5 packs would have been realistic.
Only one board dooshed, on return.

I'm a Garuda man in indo all the way....be interesting to hear Jetstar reviews..
a matw flew Jetstar and they touched up his mal pretty good busted rails...
2000 grand mal violated he got stung excess baggage too for the pleasure......
i just like Garuda for the 20kg of sporting goods...
and they are I believe indo owned so in this politically/religious tumultuous time it makes me feel a bit safer particularly when going to Jakarta Medan etc etc

Yeah Garuda are great for surfers, no worries about board size. Just that the times for Garuda & my missus Singapore airlines flights are like 6 hours one way & 8 the other different to mine. Jetstars is 15 mins & 45...soz since we are way too far from Perth to consider taxi's. Its much easier to drive in/back & park in the long term car park.

Not gonna bring a longboard to Bali, I did that one January & although it was a lot of fun out at Tanjung's. It was a pain to travel with...problem is my triple travel bag is 7 foot & my double travel bag is 6'4. I will probably have to tape a 6 & 6'2 bag together.

But does anyone know what Jestar plane flys between Perth & Bali Like A320 or A330 or something I could ring them I guess, just trying to avoid it

hey Mick you need to be on the A380 dreamliner for your 7'0 bag,it should say what plane it is as you proceed through online booking,if you're taking 6'2 just tape bag excess over nose of boards

jetstar was awesome if you book the extra for entertainment and food - your watching a movie before the planes even taxiing back plus the food comes quick and your served first while others are checking the menu and eyeing your food off salivating
But in all seriousness micko its a bloody short flight 3 hours or whatever ive flown them all from perth and never had a drama I would declare sports equipment when booking too then can take a quiver no questions asked

Thanks guys I went through booking again & I missed a little click down box saying the plane is an Airbus A320-200 (flight JQ106) which is meant to be ok for up to 2.3 (7.5ft). Stoked I can take an extra board in the 7ft wheeled coffin boardbag & go a little longer. Was keen on taking a 6'4 with a 6 & 6'2...All good

With Jetstar if u rock up to the airport and go over the luggage allowance you get ripped, best to pack the bags you plan to take weigh it and pre pay for additional KG both ways, and you have to check in eariler than other airlines from memory.

Yeah I grabbed the max price 30kg round trip & additional sport $ for board length BS...only concern now is flight time changes. I was in Bali in 2015 when the volcanic eruption had people stranded or unable to head off on their holiday, big topic on the news for a while. We headed home on our Garuda flight on that first day it occurred when other flights were cancelled. I was pissed off we were not stranded in Bali having a bonus holiday paid by Insurance...Don't mind getting stranded as long as its not in Perth
