Last year I was going to Bali, I was booked on Jetstar to come back through perth , later I found out that there policy to only allow boards under 1.9 m. ,in the end I had to change my ticket to get on a bigger plane as I did not want to risk leaving my boards in Bali as I had 3 board the longest being 7'10", How do you guys in W.A. go does anyone fly jetstar, I have to as all my flights are frequent fllyer.

I've taken a mini mal on a jetstar flight a couple years ago and had no issues.
But won't ever do that again...carrying 4 boards in the airport without a coffin....blaaargh!

Well that's why I take my wife with me if I take 4 , split it into 2 bags. Has no one heard of a trolley?

Went to Lombok n bali with stretegic Airlines(now Australian Air I think) but very happy with service. 210cm limit on boards I think and I had 30kgs to play with. Plus it's a full service airline. i.e. food and drinks included. Was a competitive price. And might mention happy hosties to boot. Don't normally get that on other airlines.(I did work for another major airline for over 10yrs) Maybe the plane was a little old but think they've upgraded now. I also went to Bali a few yrs ago with Jetstar and one of my boards was a 6'8". Got that on OK then but they've since changed the rules to only allow boards(and bag) to 190cm. Alright for the young fella but not dads 6'4'. Maybe they just couldn't be bothered with surfers but happy to take the bogans.

Have flown from Perth with Garuda dozens of times, Air Asia a few times, Virgin a few times and Strategic twice and have all been fine with 8'6, seems to only be Jetstar who have an issue with their smaller airbus's, so I never fly Jetstar!
