Katana in Osborne Park... Dave Smith is the man... he posts on here...

He also has a good range of on rack new and used boards... and will spend the time to talk to you and understand what you are after.

Other SeaBreezers will offer advice on other local shapers...

Chris Mckenzie @ Oceanline makes a nice board. Strong too. I have a board from him that survived being run over by a car, just a coupla small creases in the nose! Missus was driving, I've never let her live it down!

I like Katana's work too, just picked up a newby yesterday. Three new boards in under a year is saying something. I've sold all my old boards and I'm building a quiver of Dave's. I like the build quality and the fact that he'll listen to what you want shaped.
I'm surfing his epoxies and have taken a foot off the length of what I was riding in PU. It's like dropping 30kg.

Like the Webber SLX models? I would by that crap anyway. Saying that I havnt bought a WA made board for a while.

Is there much work out there for glassers/sanders? Im keen to get into it and dont know where to start. Im a spraypainter by trade and fix heaps of my mates boards all the time so I have a bit of experience..

Mate Dave Brash, nathan rose or Matt Manners are unreal down this way and Al bean or chapstar in dunsy rip out some bloody good boards too. could be a good chance for a week ender! just got back from a trip thru north sumatra and one of the lads was riding D.A. Lewys (ozzy park i think??) and he was pretty happy with those. plenty of good local talent around, make sure you see these guys cos basically they shape boards for local conditions and have been for decades. can't beat local knowledge.

Although he resides over east now, Steve Del Rosso still has the shop down in Secret Harbour. I just picked up a 5'8" fish from him and the thing goes awesome in small waves.

Can also recommend Matt Manners in Margs.

Its a Hot Brewz H Bomb. Not bad and to be honest when i was looking for a second hand board this one was as cheap. BUT you get what you pay for and i was looking at the time for a second board. (not thinking i'd use it that much and would continue with long board).

Having said that loving the new lease on life and now looking for a better board. Well always on the look.

$500 for a Pod is cheap..
