Oh the Pain!!!

We burnt old boards as an excuse to have wild beach parties at Coolum beach (Stumers creek) in the seventies.
(I think? As my memory is vague hehehe)
A Kevin Platt, a San Juan, a Ken Manning, a Henri and more... and then we started to make our own.
(With no branding, as i still do today)
We stopped the practice when we found out how we we're damaging the atmosphere by doing such things.
Vegetarian, mushroom eaten, pot smoker nature boys who hated commercialism and competitive surfing.
Never thought the industry would become so huge.
What a privilege to have lived in this era. Topless girls on every beach. No aids or herbies.
Big bush buds. Sand in granite bay and 2nd bay.
You could actually catch a wave from the boiling pot to main beach and no one would even try to drop in.

And then there was the island.

If anybody has a time machine, I'm in.

It's not a time machine you need but an inter-dimensional warp machine because you aren't talking about a different time, rather a different planet far, far away.

Look I will settle for surfing in the 90s. It was a little agro in the 80s.

Inter-dimensional travel essentially is time travel, unless you're talking about the 5+ dimension ;)

I'm to young to remember the 'good times'...does that mean ignorance is bless? As in, I don't know how good it use to be therefor I do lament it's passing?

You MUST be using the voice of DR Smith from Lost In Space (60's Sci-fi) "ooh the pain .. the pain', .. book me a front row seat on that wayback machine, cost is irrelevant. Oh the surf, oh the topless chicks, oh the free love , oh the booze n dope, no crowds, the pigs pulled you over just because you had boards on top of the van & long hair, fkers. Jimi ruled the guitar, and it was ALL FKEN NEW, fek I miss it..

Bull. Why was it always better in the old days? Reading synoptic charts to suss the coming swell sucked when compared to today's maps. Board are heaps better today the reefs haven't changed shape
