WAFTAM driving 2 hours to Wedge when they are conducting exercises.

(Was worried about no beach, but moot point when you can't even get 1km up the beach !!!)

Does anyone have the phone number to check? Or is there a website now?

27/7/11-29/5/11
1/8/11-8/8/11
Ranger Number 0429680102
Wedge is off limits as of 1/3/11,gates to be locked and you will be fined heavily if caught.Someones being cutting the locks off and going through.
You could go via Dide bay or south rocks or get a jet ski and zoom around there.
Is it getting crowded or wot in Perth!

I take it you mean 1/5/11 rather than 1/3/11?
I was hoping to head to wedge next weekend - surely they wont close the whole beach if live fire exercises aren't on until the 9th of May?

If so, then bugger.
Though I guess the boys need to get rid of some of that ammo.

Got to lanno backbeach @ 7.30am Sunday and it was close to empty. By the time we left two hours later the beach was full of 4WDs, there was only one when we got there!! Looking forward to some local banks if we ever get some

Yea it was good for two hours, then it was just out of control!! Bloody people everywhere!! Ive never seen back beach so crowded, well I have but generally on a long weekend ect.
I think Im going to have to resort to some of my secret but harder to get to spots

That is what I did.
Over easter not much track left from the south and no track from wedge. But thought more options if we could not get all the way to BR.
They had blocked off on beach before the first point after rocks.
And yes, the 6hrs of driving around for no surf was on hilarious !!!
