Anybody got one or had a good look at one? Thoughts?

Need a new watch and don't fancy the bulk of the RipCurl search.

Thanks

I bought my son a nixon water proof tide watch, it leaked on first use, got it replaced on warranty, second one leaked on first use, they then wouldnt replace on warranty. this was via an offshore online store. never buying a nixon again. nice looking but piece of sh!te. went to nixon direct and they said because it was a dealer/reseller they wouldnt look at the warranty,

im suprised that they would not honour the product...much easier to do that than me reading this and not buying one now...Plus telling other peeeps about it.

To me it should not matter who is selling it as it is their product that they should stand behind.....If it is a copy thats a different story

That's what I was thinking Poida, as you have to in Bluetooth range of your phone to get updates, so why not just use the phone?

I was looking at the RipCurl search Beast but it was just so bulky for my girlish wrists.

Sod it, I'll just buy another $20 and put the money towards a new board

I had a rip curl tide. It's leaked 1 month before the warranty expired (11 months) and they replaced it. The second one leaked 1 month before the new warranty expired (11 months), the third one leaked 1 month after the warranty expired and they wouldn't replace it despite there being an obvious design flaw. RRP the time was about $210 (= $70 p/year of use).

I switched to a Billabong Phaser and exactly the same thing happened (3 watches in 3 years + I had to pay $50 each time I had it replaced/repaired). RRP the time they was about $300 (=$100 p/year of use). Billabong don't seem to be making watches any more but I'm guessing Nixon and Billabong were getting their watches made by the same people.

I currently have the Quiksilver e-Moodak and I've been using it for well over a year now with no issues (RRP $140). A mate of mine has the same watch and he's been using his for about 4 years with no issues.
