Nice to see someone has mastered the basics! Most people I see are hazzards and dangerous.
Please move your post to Boating/Kook section as I find this video affensive.

Id say he's got more than the basics down

Nice surfing and great control. I'd lose my cool if i had to surf through that crowd every wave

For those that don't know the surfer on the 666,Jackson Close can ride anything and is one who has respect on a 666 at snapper. THE most progressive longboarder I've ever seen can punt higher on 9 foot board than most SBers.
Australian longboard, stand up paddle board champion on more than one occasion, super cool guy.

Is supping surfing. You dont grab the board and lift yourself up. Its a bit like pap smears (boogie boarders) they dont lift themselves onto the board and ride.

Obviously a super talented dude and all, but i don't see the point of SUPing a wave like that. I'm a big fan of the sup for the right wave (all those little crumbly reef breaks around cott), but he barely used his paddle on those waves. Would have been better on a mal or a chunky fish type board. Can't see the logic in using a SUP on waves like that.

HeHe was I bad I watched a few waves and got frustrated. To slow and restrictive, missed out on to many section that a SB could of smacked.
Then he dropped in and that was game over for me. Not a fan of these new age goat boats.
62mac please dont take me to serious. I like S***t stiring.

That dude might not be a problem in the line-up as he clearly knows what he's doing. But every other twat with no clue watching him that will then think it's ok to take a SUP out into that sort of crowd are going to be a hazard.

@ JB and ex

Killbot its a very competitive line up,its who's who,who gets away with riding them and you will not see another 666er out when its over 2 foot the locals will not allow it, just the way the place works. The Alley is the home to these things thank god

I always hear surfers say 666's are this and that. Its not surfing, id never buy one, cant see the point. Then they get a little older, cop a bad injury and many of them start saying maybe i should get a 666

A mate of mine who bagged me out when i bought mine, yesterday asked if he could borrow it as he is keen to give it a go and maybe buy one

Would i surf that wave on it NO
I think if you ride a wave on a board than its all good, what ever you like, be it kneelo, stand up or surf. Long or short board. We all have a right to surf it how we want. I do draw the line at boggy boards though They have no rights..Nah kidding, i even give them right of way..

Had a stooge on a 12'6 bail on a 2 ft wave in front of me yesterday. Not the first time I have feared in that lineup, yet I was crapping pretty hard when I saw this boat coming at me.. Dickhead tried to make a joke about it as paddled off on his knees wtf. Don't see many on the beaches as the paddle out sorts the kooks pretty quickly. Oh I love my 666 for dropping crab pots in the broady

Keep in mind JC is on a 8 foot board most of the longboard guys are on anything from 9 to 10 foot boards.

I'm more concerned with the shark passionately named Chrispy now he can be a problem
Oh time to run the phantom red thumb'er is back

And that's exactly the way it should be but unfortunately not all breaks are policed so heavily.

SUP seem to breed SUP!! I know surfboards are the same, but once one SUP gets out, more follow. I never look them in the eye or talk to them. I surf crap waves and am a good bloke yet I hate seeing them!! Just a hazard, wave hogging joke most of them!

When i take my goat boat out and I'm standing up looking like a meerkat cat,
i look for shortboarders with all the stickers on their boards so i can hang
with other dicks.

Good question..?

surf·ing
/ˈsərfiNG/

Noun
The sport or pastime of being carried to the shore on the crest of large waves while standing or lying on a surfboard.
Synonyms
surfriding - surf-riding

For me i guess it is..

I just watched it again and it is slow..Great control but i also saw people chucking boards, dropping in, getting in the way, all sorts of stupid behaviour that would upset me more than the 666er

Interesting read, particularly this bit:

"this new paddle generation seems completely oblivious to our history.

One expensive purchase and they?ve escaped years of practice, study and reverence in a very difficult equation. One expensive purchase and they feel entitled to the first place in line? that is at any lineup that doesn?t require a challenging paddle out.

Armed with less etiquette and courtesy than is required on any American highway, paddles are unconcerned with identities within the surfing culture because they don?t comprehend that there is one.

They?ve been gifted a promotion before they ever started the job."
