Also, does anyone know whether there will be any serious intention to surf anywhere else (eg, North Point)? 19 second period and south easterlies may be much better than than Margies ...

The box maybe tomoro or Thursday as swell goes more west with offshore winds, last day of waiting period is Sunday....hope it all clicks......I think nth point is on the list of alternate spots but in reality all the paraphernalia that makes up a comp site it may never happen

yeah, that is what I thought would be the case ...

SE is no good for North Point in my opinion.
At least the circus is in town and have something to do this weekend...

Adding to the already fantastic display of vintage surfboards, photography exhibits and artwork this year we are adding live surfboard shaping exhibitions, live artwork exhibits, and a Giant Surfboard swap-meet on Saturday Morning. The cinema will be running surf films and film shorts from all eras.

There will be live music played on Saturday night for those keen to come down and hear some great tunes by local surf musicians.

The town of Margaret river will be buzzing with excitement with The Drug Aware Margaret River Pro running the same week. It will be a festival of surf.

just realized going through the 3rd round heat analyzer, that Taj and Bede durbridge had to rerun there 3rd round heat, due to taj getting caught in Bedes legrope on take off but no results were posted on the margies pro site.anyone know the result?

It was a lot more wind blown compared to their first heat. Taj's wave he got caught up on was a nice wave to so he probably could have felt a little robbed, but fact is Bede was ahead anyway, so a good result IMHO
It would be nice if gets rolling again, I'm not sure how many times we need to see KS stomping on grapes on the news

It's on now...actually looks pretty fun out there. Smooth and a touch over head.

The box was fun to watch, and for a change i found it nice to see many of the competitors getting their arses handed to them but for a comp setup i didn't really enjoy it. Each wave really needed to be scrutinised very hard to pick it apart to find differences. Having said that they caught bucket loads of waves so it was entertaining.. Just not 100% sure.

I think id prefer to see the event back at Mains but in much bigger conditions

i think its the right decision to move to the box, given the conditions
it was entertaining, watching some of the pros try to tackle it
would have been interesting with some more swell, the box would have ripped a new one for those that hadn't practiced in it
i could see some hospitalisation going down if it was bigger

Box was awesome, but thought the judging was inconsistent....only a 4.9 for yadins screamer? Bizarre!

I like Yadin when asked which board he was to ride, he said it least favourite one just incase..

I felt the commentary explained it out well, and the slow mows helped, but they all looked so similar IMHO.

Not sure were they'll go tomorrow..Maybe a water skiing comp..

Back in the day when the company provided the Jet-ski support, we would often be asked to help entertain the crowd between breaks. In hindsight maybe thats were most of the damage to all the skis came from..
