Has anyone come across a silver go pro 3 this morning/Arvo (Sunday) at Scabs? Little brother lost his Christmas present from the fiancée. Sounds like it should still have the mount attached as it broke off. Cheers.

Did he have the floating back door? I watched mine shoot off on the weekend after a heavy noise dive and was pleasantly surprised to find it floating straight away.

Hope he finds it..

Unfortunately not, little sister bought him the floating back for Christmas but hadn't gotten around to giving it to him, and because he knew he wa getting one he didn't buy one himself. He was spewing because he'd gotten footage a couple of good ones too.

It's a bit late now, but you should always have a tether on it. I have a piece of string (stringline - brickies use) that I tie the camera off (at the hinge) and the sail or boom when I use it for windsurfing. I have had it come off a few times when wiping out and it was still there attached near the rig. It's like it's own legrope.

I guess lossing a camera is a pisser, but it's the footage that hurts the most especially if you got something good.

Mine came with the new base and a smaller base for the tether line. I wasn't using though and mine came of as the white plug wasn't pushed in correctly. I will use the tether next time but the waves weren't that big. But i guess a straight drop and nose dive at the bottom was still enough force to pop it of..

Maybe try the clubies if it was on the weekend. Their usually a fairly honest bunch.

Yeah, he had a tether on a separate mount, but apparently both broke free. Unlucky, think he was just picking off a couple of shoreys too.

Thanks for the idea Beastsurf, he probably hasn't thought of that, will pass it on.
