OK I will kick along the Longboard Forum push by adding a topic.

I'm heading home to Qld for 4 weeks next week and will be splitting the time between Noosa and Kingscliff. I have the Sunshine Coast area sorted for where to catch a wave having spent many a Christmas one of the many caravan parks on the beach.

Kingscliff and northern NSW are a different questions. The only places I have ever surfed are Currumbin and Kingscliff. What other longboard gems are there to be found in the area and not to be missed. Apart from the obvious Byron option.

Funny all the places that get hyped.

There's this little place around the corner from the "Pass that I enjoy more than the pass it's self on a nice day. Little smaller but nicer people, no agro shortboards and less blow ins.

Or there's this place a bit further south from Byron, though the locals say it doesn't work as well as it used to.

Yeah, took that picture my first drive up the coast - you couldn't get me to shut up if you tried between there and Byron. Almost drove off the road 10 time looking at the waves as well. Missus wasn't too happy, left a trail of scorched grass between the car and the surf when I got there

I've always wondered if Flat rock (just should of LH) ever turns on the goods.

Yeah thinking my september vacation might be a drive up that way and camping somwhere in the area to keep vacation costs down. Always like surfing up that way, actually I just like getting out of sydney and having a surf in a "smaller" town with the locals. Would love to get back up as far as Noosa but it's a bit more of a drive than you really want to do for a week off.

Then again I'm justed getting excited about being able to surf again in June!

Thanks for all the advice. I can't wait to get off the plane and start doing a bit of exploring. Hopefully Huey will come to the party and turn on the magic for us.
