It is a game changer when you can deal with the idiots and still have fun, lets face it, more times than not there is going to a high kook ratio closer to town

While there have been good conditions and swell, the massive deep gutters and holes everywhere has made it suck for weeks. Hopefully it changes soon.

Not quite the same quality photos

Still have urchins spines in my feet to this day from there (low tide) used to regularly surf the joint on my own during the off season depending on the southerlys.............some days the dark shadows floating around used to send me in .

nice!
photos not that different really, I was using canon 5dIII and f2.8 300 + 1.4 TC, good kit so one would hope for quality, notwithstanding photags skill set ( not much above current surfing skill set :-( )

I fear for the place and all that stretch of coast, Parks and Wildlife crawling around on a Sunday, like the parking inspectors at Cottesloe. taking photos, signs appearing everywhere, tracks blocked off....
more campsites, cabins..
progress I guess, maybe not

nostalgia is good

That wave is magical
we went there out of season for a week
I surfed that wave five days straight from amazing to phenomenal different tides all day arvo morning.
it is truely amazing

One particular surf stands out, i paddled all the way out the back and then up the reef and up the reef and kept paddling. It was head maybe head and a half and just perfect, I had already surfed morning and this was around lunch, I ended up so faaaaar up the reef and a set came through, I have never ever done as many backhand turns on one wave in my life, I even got barreled and jammed a couple floaters on the inside, I got to the shoulder and glided all the way up to the sand and stepped off.
i called it, it was a one wave surf and it is glued to my brain like nothing.

perth was ok ok today
scabs to trigg had a couple

Fished around there a lot but don't bother much now given the plague of bronzies. Always wondered if that stretch was surfable - never seen anyone on it. Cracking looking left on that far headland - anyone tried that?

Great frame Bolgo, I thought it was one of the sharper reef bottoms I have surfed, soft to touch when something had to be sacrificed when pushed to the bottom, remember shredding a foot there and wondering how the fu(k did that happen .

Back in the day surfed it a bit with no one around just me and a mate ("81" was the start of the winter season crowds) one day we did run into the biggest tiger shark had to bail as it would'nt fu(k off.

Would need a couple of people to paddle out regardless then get attacked for the Brazilian storm to justify a whinge session on social media...

Good size fun waves at a place I rarely surf, more dolphins than people. Surfed a new board I was considering selling, but a different fin set up & good size waves had me loving it....then I kooked out missing the narrow gap in the reef coming in after 4 hours, ended up sitting on dry reef ditching my board over a wave, smashed my knee & cracked a carbon rail. Shame no one was there to get a laugh out of it...like when I ran over my favourite board 2 days ago after the wind blew it over
