Haven't used Jetstar to Bali for years anyone had problems with boards bigger than 6'3" or 1.9 meters (I think thats their max size)

One of my boards is 6'8"

only airline that has managed to damage any of my boards!!!!

apparently board size is is in direct proportion to aircraft size - they will jam it into the luggage crates if it fits its going....... if not it may be folded to fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

have read stories about people snapping/cutting their boards down to size at the airport to avoid $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$excess baggage fees.

look up i hate jetstar website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but in saying all that my board 6'2 did arrive in one piece, Im not too sure how your 6,8 will go

All aircraft except A-330: 1.9m max.

A-330: 2.77m max.

See: www.jetstar.com/au/en/help/tags/oversized-baggage

Virgin are better with length allowances, usually 3m.

Jetstar, hmmm. Should be called mystery airlines, you never know what your going to get. Out of 6 flights to/from Asia in the last few years 2 on time, 1 delayed, 4 cancelled. I know that doesn't add up but 1 flight was cancelled rescheduled for another day then cancelled again. That was the best one, Jakarta to Perth, waiting in the departure lounge about to board then they announce in Indonesian that its cancelled. Wondered why everyone was leaving the lounge. No other flights out for 3 days, head back to the front desk and get your refund, that was it. Anyway I digress, board length, if its Perth your departing from, from what I understand they fly both the A330 and the A320 to Bali. Perth to Jakarta only the A320 which has the restricted board length. We travelled with a 6 8 two 6 5s a 6 4 a 6 3 and smaller boards on the A320. No hassles all went through ok. As I said mystery airlines.

I have a mate who is booked for similar time he is taking a 7'6" haven't told him yet he is down south for the weekend.

Ticket is for the A320 and non refund-able how long ago did you fly with the 6'8" Remac?

I am taking two boards in a double a 6'6" and 6'8" I was thinking of stamping 6'3" all over the bag

Travelled May/June last year with the 6 8. Travelling pro's on the return flight to Perth from Jakarta with coffin bags loaded and although the flight was cancelled they had no trouble booking the boards on. The coffin bags would of been 7 6 at a guess. All previous mentioned jetstar flights I was carrying at least 2 boards up to 6 6 and never even new there was a maximum board length until the last flight's in June. We decided to take the punt with a hacksaw blade at the ready and they didn't even question the board length.

Just on a side note for people that aren't aware if you buy a new board between $300 and a $1000 up to a month before departure you can claim the GST on it as a sporting goods. $80 back on a $800 dollar board buys a few bintangs

I think it's for anything over (a?) receipt $800, too.
All on one receipt only, so don't half deposit then balance later. Or buy a variety of stuff from different stores.

Good heads up that one, Remarc. Nobody is aware of that one.
