Watching an interview with Seabass during the Karamas comp and was saying him and his friends have gotten into the habit of collecting three pieces of rubbish every time they go to the beach
Apparently stole the idea off JJF
Not a bad habit to get into.
I know we have the once a year clean up Australia event but to get people onboard with this every time they go for a surf would definitely be worthwhile

Beeches are clean here but you can still pick up rubbish if you look

I was at Little Parakeet Bay on Rotto back in March... we'd been snorkeling for a fair while and Mrs wanted to finish her book... beach looked clean, but once my eyes started to tune in I found all sorts of small bits of rubbish up in the rocks and weeds and paths... so I got up and spent about 20min doing the clean up and probably picked up 20+ small items of rubbish from a cigarette lighter to bottle tops, to lollipop straws etc. Must say, I did feel like I had done a little good deed for the day.

I always pick up stubbies and glass if I see it at the beach. Apart from sh!tting me it's just dangerous...

Fishing gear is the worst around rocks like that, City Beach groin is full of it.

Good work btw

Saturday morning took the kids and a bucket to check out the beach carnage and bit of beach combing. took a bucket and we all collected a bunch of rubbish. Mainly lollypop sticks, so many at trigg point. guess from the high volume of groms we seem to have here of late.
Plenty of drink bottle lids also. ANyhow, made it a game and collected in no time.
Was hoping for some new fins but to no avail...
agree tho, good habit to get into.

I've been known to pick up stuff. Espescially glass, eh GPA.
On that topic, was lucky enough to be driving down Hepburn last week, and the freshish wood chips on the sides of it are badly littered with stubbies.
Shameless bloody neanderthals!

It would break my heart to see the little one stomp on broken glass because some muppet was too lazy to walk that that extra metre to the bin.
Haven't been to Bali for a few years but hate to see how bad it has become.
Especially the plastic.
Indo's don't think anything of throwing their Nasi goreng snack box over the side of a boat once finished.

+1 there's no way I'll ever walk past a bottle on the beach or near by my house. Did that a few days ago after some blokes laying a concrete slab 2 doors up left a 6 pack of beers on a new house build block. Happy to say we don't see much rubbish around here, just those bloody yellow dog poo placcy bags have a habit of blowing from the park over the road & stopping down the side of my house a few times each week ...better than dog sh1t being left in the park though...

I'm constantly picking up garbage from the beach and parks. Those lollipop sticks you speak of you'll probably find they are cotton buds, those things are everywhere over the beaches here
