There's a track to a place. It's near another place with a related subject name, same initial access track. I surfed both of the places earlier this year and the track to the one I'm interested in is near impossible right near the end. VW-sized holes that made me bottom out the bullbar and bumper. I don't really want to do that again.

There's a back track to the place that I haven't done for many years. I recall at least one creek with steep entrance and exit. How's that track now? I've got a big 4wd, but it's more a tourer than a crawler. I will take any track within reason and am more likely than some to push the vehicle limits, but much less likely than a lot of guys you see at lowkey's, bogged up to the chassis with an incoming tide.

The thing that sucks is I'd like to check both these spots, because conditions could be good for either. Maybe I should do as some do and park nearby and walk instead. That'll make me feel like a pussy though.

PMs for secrecy probably appropriate.

Actually, looking online it appears if you hang a right just before the end and do a bit of a loop you would avoid this treacherous area. Is that what people do now?

All this to save a 200m walk ...

Trees down after last week could be more ur problem. I just got through to a spot today that had trees all over it, just luck they were passable.... no one out either............a little north of ur spot.

Thanks barndog.

I'm looking at Sunday, so there'll be 4 bazillion people out.

A spot north? Not aware of any nearby but I'm not as familiar with the area as I used to be. Unless you mean a little beachbreak that I've heard about but never visited. Any banks? Could be an option to avoid the crowds if I decide to do this trip.

I'd love to visit some of the more popular spots but don't like the idea of the people.

I stopped at the problem area as had not been in there for years and walked down, but a car behind me went to the side and not a problem. I was only in a Rav 4 and that would have got there easy. Did not bother driving down, it was flat even there

Thanks Twimby. Someone else has informed me they've had no trouble either. I'm obviously just a giant pussy or the track's changed since March. I also went to the side (west) but my car scraped it's long nose and arse.

I don't have the swell thing wired like I once did. I'm hoping this idea is worth it if I decide to go. Don't want to spend all day driving around trying to find an uncrowded worthwhile spot. Done that before.

I'd prefer another half metre of swell but otherwise it's looking pretty good for the general area.

If the swell period jumps like they say, should be waves all over

The back track you mention is still accessable. Got in the other day no worries. Yrs ago it was heaps quicker than the main track. Use the main track and turn right a the top of the hill just b4 the final last rough sestion. It will take you to the last bit of the back track.

if you know where it is you will know exactly what i mean.

To all those SUP haters out there i SUP it often but still grab my 6'3" when its pumping

Thanks Bender.

Anyone else wants to do a day trip, hit me up. I'm a bit busy later today/tonight so I might not get back to you so don't get your hopes up too high. It'll be a long day. I'd prefer to leave by 5am but more likely 6am, maybe not get back until 8pm but more likely a bit earlier. BBQ lunch, same as the last thread.

Only asking out of interest ...

Does it start with the letter after F, and down south?
