I bought a bunch recently. Quality is OK. Not quite FCS quality but not bad. I havent had the chance to use them yet. I like the template of the keels but i'm not so keen on the foil now I have them. One of my controller quad rears has the mould slightly offset so i will have to do a little sanding and maybe a touch of filler to make it spot on. In the end you get what you pay for. for $55 a set they are worth a try I think.
i have had lots of crew come in with them and complain about humming at speed , most of them i have been able to fix but i agree you get what you pay for
I got a quad set from them a while back as they did a Futures Controller style fin to suit an FCS fin box.
They hummed at speed and started to delaminate and split apart after one surf. I sent Indo Fins an email offering some feedback and they sent a replacement set out to me ASAP. Those ones didn't delam but they would still hum whenever I got up any sort of speed.
They might be a good budget option for a newbie or a grom, but if i was on a tight budget i'd still go for a set of Glassflex Fins from FCS
humm is all to do with the trailing edge profile. It needs to be perfectly square, not rounded or not knife edge. Bust if the trailing edge is almost 1mm thick. Easily solved with some sandpaper and a hard block.
Its all about the way the vorticies are shed off the back of the fin!
True Bertie, my little grom got a set custom made (tiny), but he sliced his ankle open on them requiring six stitches and crutches. They are mega sharp on the trailing edge, hence the humm, but for the grom that isn't too much of an issue other than knocking his ankle on them. Go the FCS for the extra cost for an adult.
