Hey brothers, I was chatting to bloke the other day about how much wax costs. The convo turned to making your own. This bloke told me the two basic ingredients but I forgott them I think he said the first one was bees wax and I know the second one started with M monofin or something. I was wondering if any like minded cooks could point me in the right direction.
It is the biggest hassle ever, haha. I've made it before and my mate even bought a recipe from a local manufacturer and had a little dig at producing it commercially but didnt last long. Heaps easier to part with your 5 bucks even though I cringe at how much it costs nowadays compared to when I was a grom.
I'm hearing ya. It would be nice. After susing out some of the toxic products that go into wax just sniffing around the mix might do the the trick. Might give you a bit of a head ache after.
The non toxic one is the go. I havn't tried to find the tree sap yet but hopefully it won't be to hard to find. Parafin seems a bit toxic the oil version is used to seal water tanks and has some prity heavy warning on it. I imagine the solid for would be just as harmful. It poberbally would be easier just to buy the stuff but theres no fun in that.

If you find some let us know - had a quick look the other day but didn't see any - bees wax is dime a dozen
