LOL...first boards that black nosed learner board I borrowed from the hotel & the second I borrowed form Hirokin, a J pro surfer that runs More surfboards. The enviroment seemed pretty clean down there. You've got mountains meeting the ocean with these little bays with just enough room for a little township...Its a different story North of Tokyo. Fu-kushima area has a lot of waves & some die hards are still surfing there. Fishing boats there are collecting radioactive samples unfortunately, but people are still surfing there...Sendai North of there was cranking with typhoon swell, looked very nice & even though it was uncrowded during the week back before March 2011, its empty now since the town got washed away in that tsunami.
The firewire is a superboat, pretty much perfect for those conditions & my lazyness haha...a 6'4 Dominator I was renting for $10/day
