Okay so after saying i wouldn't spend money fixing a board i have at the Local surf shop i spotted a $10 UV resign glue.

SO i went home and didn't read the instructions. That night my son and sat down and sanded the area, applied the glue and and waited the prescribed 5 mins to dry. Okay if anyone has seen my error yet you get a tick.
Well the stuff didn't go of and still hasn't. I re read the instructions and surprise surprise you need UV rays to set it of... So now i have a trouble as it seems it won't set. Any ideas on what to do to try and get it to go of or do i just dig it all out?

PS was a great lesson for the young bloke though. He now understands to read the instructions first...

You can get it off with wax and grease remover if it hasnt gone off, or just put it outside in the sun and it will go off still.

I don't use the tubes myself but I believe the epoxy ones often stay tacky on the surface but if you scrap the top off if should be firm. The tacky outer layer can be good if you want to put more on top and have them bond.

for some strange reason ive covered the area of solar res repairs with sticky tape (to flatten the area save sanding - lazy bugger) and it set the resin off and stopped the tacky tacky

That's pretty odd. The stuff I've always used goes rock solid in 10 minutes.

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY did i ever start this....

Figured the glue out but...

Ok so it stays a little tacky on the top but sands of nicely. BUT if you even look like scuffing the unrepaired section of this cheap piece of Chinese crap if just spreads. So far a tiny ding is now about 3 to 4 inches long..ARH

Time to sell some more boats to get coin to buy another board.

Just a small tip, dont use solacure on bigger jobs. Use it only on small cracks ect.
Bigger stuff use resin with hardener its so much easier to manage and goes off heaps quicker, and harder

Actually the resign i'm using is a real pleasure. It works well but the skin on this board is slow hard to sand the finish in. So new plan i just filled the hole used tape over it to form shape and will leave it at that..
