Gday guys

Was looking at getting a new board for perth's sloppy waves and was thinking about getting the hayden shapes hypto krypto.

I was reading up about them and saw some people saying board quality wasn't great. Can anyone give me a bit of info on the board quality? Does anyone have any experience with it?

Also if you think it's not worth it please give me some recommendations for Perth Waves.

I'll be buying second hand, max $600

My mates is all stuffed on the deck and the toughness of the deck is unimpressive. Still, it's in one piece and my mate his six foot waves like North Point on it, so it's tough that way.

I think a Hypto would suit Perth waves
Short, dumpy, closeouts etc
The forward volume would allow a easy paddle in and the round/pin tail would have a bit more bite as the wave sucks out and back washes through.
Not that I live there or own a Hypto but if I did ???

Seems as if the higher board quality are the ones made in Australia. Does anyone know if you want one made in Australia does it have to be a custom?

Pretty sure Yahoo in Dunsborough are licensed to machine cut Hayden shapes, and make Hypto's from PU and polyester if you want an Aus one.
Usually have some ready to go in store if you don't want to wait

Or get a Yahoo Captain Morgan and love life in Perth waves. Paddles well and turns close outs into a wave as you race down the line. Mini-Simmons boards are pretty fun in small gutless waves.

The people I see on hyptos use them more as HP substitutes rather than fishy grovel boards.

Perth's sloppy waves? Hypto is not the board for slop. When/where is it sloppy? Like on the reefs in a Seabreeze?

Yeh just the usual sloppy mess you get with the seabreeze. It's also generally quite small in Perth except for those once off big days

If you want to surf gutless waves a board with a wide tail will be better.
