Hey guys

Looking at heading over to the goldy with the lady for a week
Any tips on where to stay that is close to the surf and still close to other bits and pieces? Would be good if I didn't have to hire a car or get cabs to the waves?

Cheers in advance

Stay anywhere on or near gold coast highway and you'll be able to get a bus north or south to the majority of the spots. I wouldn't stay in surfers. Maybe palm beach/ burleigh / cooly?

The Mantra is great value. We got a deal 5 nights at $125 per night a few years back, looks like they have a deal at $156 per night atm. Room we had contained everything, separate bedroom & bathroom with a washing machine. Think it was about the 4th floor, we could see Kirra to the left & across Coolangatta to Green Mount. Snapper & D'bah was an easy walk. I just surfed between double head Kirra & GM when I stayed there for 5 days. Had the GM stretch to myself for 3 days, no barrels but super long rides. Had some fun ones at KIrra, but then kooked out & provided some comedy for the people on the groyne trying to surf a small wave in between 2 boulders to walk back up the beach. But the wave wanted to introduce me to them & took my right fin. Game over till I got it repaired in Caloundra 2 days later.

But yeah, great place you'll have a good time. Plenty of waves if your not part of the flock
