Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a new board and have seen 2 second hand ones that I am interested in.
One is a firewire rapidfire 5'8 by 20 by 2 3/8 and is 2 years old. The other is a Chilli Cherry Peppa thats 6'0 by 21.

The waves that ill mainly be surfing would be around 3-4 foot.
I've been surfing for about 2 years constantly and am currently on a 6'2 by 20 Redz board.

Which would you guys suggest?

Thanks!!

What board is the Firewire?
I googled those dimensions and it comes up as a potatonator, is that right?

Whats you height and weight? and what model Redz you surfing? and is it a replacement board or adding to the quiver?

The firewire is about 33lt and the Chilli is 36lt.

The chilli is more of a small wave grovel board 1-3ft and the Potatonator is probably 3-5ft waves but would struggle under that and would still be sustainable in anything bigger.
I would wanna take out the cherry peppa in anything over 5ft. Being a grovel board its going to be wider with a flat rocker so will paddle super easy but not as easy to put on rail. The Firewire will be a tad more of a performance board.

Id currently say go the firewire considering the waves you will be surfing.

Hey mate thanks for the reply.
The firewire board is a rapidfire spitfire.

I'm 5'9 and 66 kegs.
This board will probably be a replacement as I am not really liking the Redz board as its pretty hard to paddle and manoeuvrability doesnt seem all that great.
Going from the website I think the model is a Dumper and its 38.5 litres.

The rapid fire is the construction method. Spitfire's are a great board, i have a Dominator (Similar but fatter in the tale). I like the FW's but have a good look over it and make sure if their is any repairs that they were professionally done and that no water has leaked in. You should be able to see water damage if their is any. They tend to suck water like a sponge. FW seem to have excellent resale though, so you can always try a few and flick them if not suited.

As for comparison to other boards thats not my speciality sorry, too many brands and models these days.

I have a 6'6 spitfire and a 5'11 Baked Potato. Im a bit of a Firewire fanboy. Im a lot bigger than you though (6'4 100kgs) but I love my spitty in anything above 3ft.
Anything under that is BP time.
Like JBshack said have a good look over it as they do suck water if the glass is pierced.
But for you size and the waves you say your going to be suring the spitfire will do you well.

Like I said before the cherry peppa is more of a small wave groveller, and maybe a tad big for you
