Hello,

I am looking for something like the gready beever - type shape between 6.6 and 6.10
Maybe a little wider/rounder and eventually also a little bit thicker with less entry rocker.
Any ideas where I can find my dreamboard. I have no possibility to get in direct contact to a shaper, so this custom - thing is out of questions. And to descibe via phone or mail failed three years ago...
There must be brands who have identically boards in their quiver?
Thanks for your help.

I do boards like that all the time but I am a shaper, hope that doesn't exclude me. Check out some pics on the Soul Boardstore Instagram or Facebook pages. Cheers Ross

The problem was to describe the rails. There are many views on for example boxy. For me it is boxy and for the next guy it is medium. The same for the amount of rocker and think of the desciption of pulled in tail or for example how round is a round tail and so on...

Do you think you will get from 4 different shapers the same rail configuration if you order boxy or maybe you will get 4 different versions of boxy?
I do not think I am the problem and it is also not the mistake of the shaper, it is just the fact that people have different measurements.
Try to order a board with blue graphics, sure you will get 4 differwnt blue tones. Maybe none of these will satisfy you.
Did you get the problem now?

Not really?
Tell them you want a greedy beaver with flatter rocker a bit wider etc and leave them to it.

If you are tht pedantic on the rails no matter what you buy online I doubt you would be able to see the rails in that much detail to pick the difference.

Shapers are in business cause they are good at what they do. They have different ways to get the same result so maybe a bit of faith in the professionals is all you need.

There are heaps of shapers making this type of board.

Where are you located?

Does it matter if englisch is my first language?
This topic was about the fact that I was simply looking for an egg shape.
Where is the problem with this simple question?

You should have just googled Egg surfboard then..

I just asked where you were so we could recommend a sharper or places to look.

It is one of the most common shapes made since the 70s. Wayne Lynch's evolution board is pretty much an egg.
Curve in the outline , wide usually round nose for easy entry, pin tail, a lot of surface area to trim over dead sections, beyond that each to their own. If it looks like an egg then it is an Egg.

I wouldn't say the Hypto is an egg, more Fish / Twin like with the nose entry / shape and the straight rails but very similar idea.

if you just want to buy on of the rack try any of the big boys, usually more a long board shaper type board so maybe start with the likes of Takayama, Mctavish, South coast, Beau Young Even Webber, CI, Lost have "eggs"
ECS, Surfboard warehouse or Sanctum have cheaper ones ( Glass is light though on the sanctum).

Here is a good place to start. This bloke makes a few that are eggish... and it shows the variety.
www.goddardsurfboards.com.au/.

Just don't email him with stupid questions..

Just about every shaper does a model like an egg or based on the principal so i'd just google the **** out of it. You will see, different fins, different rails, different widths, different rockers, every shaper will do it a bit different so telling them what you want might cause more problems then it solves.
