Hello
I have just booked a family holiday to Fiji the end of January and was wondering if anyone of you fine peeps have surfed this time of year in Fiji.
I haven't booked accommodation yet as I thought I would do some research first but would love to hear some thoughts primarily it will be a family holiday but I have an understanding wife!

Thanks in advance for any thought cheers

Never been in January but we stayed on plantation Island for a wedding this year. Easy access to cloudbreak, Namotu, Wilkes etc, they have boats that go atleast daily if there is waves. Heaps of stuff to keep your kids entertained. Even a kids club where you can drop them off for the day. Beauty spa for the wife. It's a bit resorty but good for a family with young kids.

You wouldn't go there for a surf trip but it works well for a family holiday with a few waves thrown in..

they have a few boats and they go at different times of the day depending in the surf conditions and tide.
Some of the places are to shallow to surf on low tide.

Most days they have an early boat about 6am when we were there and a later boat after lunch.
The arvo one didn't always run cause most people surfed in the morning.

The main problem is they kinda choose where you are going and only go to that one spot. The morning was mostly cloudbreak, Wilkes or restaurants when we were there and the afternoon was Namotu.

The other cost you don't see advertised anywhere is they charge you extra for a board on the ferry to the Island and if you are flying air fiji they sting you as well for having a board.

But still a great relaxing spot and the waves are excellent.
