Then a few fish wash up dead on the beach and no one gives a truck.

It's been 35 years since there was ever any actual snapper in the fish and chips when you asked for snapper so nobody actually knows what a pinky is anymore?

What makes you think they don't give a **** Maybe its media that you need to be jumping on not the conservationists.
Also though on the flip side, why would people who support killing sharks have a issue with fish stocks of snapper dying out It goes both way..


Oh and have you ever considered that a large scale fish die off could have something to do with a ocean being out of balance Even more reason to stop interfering with the Ocean IMHO

I just read this on my FB and i thought of this thread again..So i thought i share

Well i didnt organise a rally, but i did email the minister for fisheries 3 times asking for answers with no replies. Also phoned fisheries direct and when talking to them got the feeling i was wasting their time.

The issue here is that an amateur fisher has so many rules to abide by (which i would say 99% do) The penaltys are high for those that dont. I abide them because I'd like my kids to enjoy catching fish and its great to see our fisheries managed well.

But when somthing like this comes along it seems its not such a big deal. Still no answers. someone knows what happened. Not an imbalance like you suggest me thinks JB.

Im not in support of drum lines, but shouldnt we be more worried about the shark fin industry in other parts of the world?
Those are no threat to humans and are killed in masses.

What about the shark finning industry in Australia..That should also be stopped..

Either way my point is why do people say its the job of conservationists to act, to complain as the first post suggests.. I say I'm not a conservationist but i want answers to the way our oceans are managed. I also started out sending letters and emails so guess what Captn, your now a conservationist

Lets hope they find answers soon, their are now reports of Penguins being found dead also..

No im not a conservationist. I just get pretty heated up knowing that a recreational fisher gets completely reamed if they do something wrong, even on a small scale and somehow a corporation can pollute water and kill thousands of fish and other marine life with no consequence. There must be a scientist clever enough to work this out.

Nope your a greenie Well as much as i am anyway So far the fish have been tested and nothing has turned up..I will say i little to no faith in Fisheries.

There needs to be more of an outcry though i agree, i guess the point is its not news worthy for the media networks so its getting little to no air.

Let's kill all the Bears, lions, hippos, Tigers, dogs, crocodiles and anything else that kills people.

While we are at it, let's ban cars. Those things are a death trap. And motorcycles. And don't forget peanut butter.

I reckon we should also start looking at stonefish, irukandji and blue ring octopuses. Get rid of cassowaries in far North Queensland.

And possibly cut down all trees in campsites - those things have been known to drop limbs and crush people.


Or we could...

Here's a thought....

Accept that many of life's activities have an inherent risk.


Next time you drive to work maybe consider that.
