Just wanted to say what a poor show of respect I saw in the lineup yesterday at strikkos. Every wave that came through had a least 1 bastard, maybe 2 dropping in. I am suprised no one got hurt after the number of collisions and close calls i saw. To the guys who kept dropping in, you should have a good hard look at yourself and if you can't abide by the surfing code then why dont you F%^k off and surf somewhere else on your own. You ruin the session for everyone else and you have no consideration to the injury that you may cause to others.

Crowds scare me so much. So do big waves, but I hate crowds. I'd rather surf a dirty close-out by myself than be in the position you just described. It's not good. Especially because in my opinion that place can have some seriousness about it.

Nah not into the whole 'this is my break' localism bullish!t. The ocean is for everyone to enjoy and nobody should ever lay claim to any break in my opinion.
If you paddle out and show respect you should never have a problem. Pricks that don't show respect and ruin other peoples time in the water need to be put in their place.

Haha no I'm not into localism at all. Seen enough ugliness in and out of the water North of Perth to see it does no good and completely destroys the vibe in the water for everyone else. Last time was out with Smicko and it turned what should have been an absolutely perfect session into a mediocre one.

Having surfed there a bit while not supporting the people dropping in what about the ones who want every wave. Get one then paddle back past everyone and want the next set and the next set.

How do you deal with that. Push everyone so deep that nothing is makable or do you just reach a point where you work out its your turn and your going no matter what.

Other than a place like snapper its not hard to keep track of who has had a wave or not.

Sadly due to the in built greed of humans very few people seem to get a stoke from sharing waves. Its get as many as possible f--- everyone else.

That is true. When I do surf with small crowds you definitely try talking to the people and have a good time and take turns. But if someone keeps paddling to the spot, as long as you've got about 5kgs on them, I could definitely see how some people would just go. I personally don't do that at all unless they're a real dick, but could understand it happening. I am by far not the best surfer at all, but it is funny that the average ripper doesn't weight more than 70kgs usually, it would only take one person with sufficient testicular fortitude to pull them up. Then again, some of the animals at the rock are big fellas and if they wanted the set wave you'd probably have to let them.

It wasn't the localism that was the problem Suba it was the wood duck who rocked up with 35 frothing 15 yr olds on a bus that caused issues. The boys there are quite happy to share, within reason. An instacrowd is a cardinal sin at any out of the way spot.

I never have more than a couple of crew in my car, there's nothing worse than having half a dozen crew pile out of one car and start hassling.

*edit* Yeah and you're right mate that surf sucked Was my last paddle before 2-3 months out of the water and it was so good 'til that knobber rocked up
