Mmm hmmm 20secs+ all day Saturday for Indo, might possibly be the odd wave locally before that too.
My leave form went in first thing this morning.

I have no chance of any days off at the moment Indo will be going off, imagine what Ulu would look like

I might be missing something here but Ulu's (Indo in general) whilst there is a long swell period, the primary swell is only a couple of metres. Not that epic if I'm reading this map correctly.

True but on long period swells are when you get those bigger clean up sets and they are generally much bigger than the usual sets
But you knew that already

yeah i did with an old auto focus minolta film camera 90 or 91?
that is outside corner but i discovered that day there is bommie that breaks a good couple of hundred yards outside the furthest temples section(way off to the left) which you can see when sitting in the lineup that is a good indicator that .....
A there is a very big set coming

B there is a very real chance you will get a real pizzling unless you padlle like michael petersen

C getting lip launched can be so much fun sometimes you can even get a second up and over on the same wave!

D outside corner is terrible place for hold downs and washing along in front of the foam if you don't pentrate when you don't manage to catch the small one in front of said set

some of the best waves (and wipeouts) i ever had

You're right doggie, I did know that already cause they're the ones I normally wear on the head.

ah yes Smicko the Swell Whisperer Some may recall his tracking of a northerly swell event earlier in the year, called it about two weeks before it hit, will he do it again?

Been watching this since last week Bakesy, don't think I've ever seen such a wide band of high period swell before, the high teens normally only last a couple of hours this thing is about 24hrs of 17-20+secs.
Leave is approved and I am a happy camper.

Period is EVERYTHING. 1m at 20secs will get me frothing more than 2.5 at 13secs.

There you go, I was missing something, and Point 6 of that article was it. I did think that the period's effect was much more of a random thing (odd bombie) as I said to doggie, rather than a sustained increase in swell height. This tells a different story. Thanks for the link Smicko.
