Not sure if it is just me or anyone else experience this? It happens after every good surf or a long morning session. Once I've gone home or hit work and had something to eat, once it hits lunch time, I'll come down and out as if being shot by a tranquilizer. It'll take me a good few hours or the rest of the day before I'm up and about in a pre-surf state. Thought I'd check my meals for high GI food too but having limited that, the post surf comatose hits again! Have not experienced this with any land based sports i.e. footy or even when work shifts end.

Anyone else have a good cure? Productivity seems to have an inverse relationship with surfing

I don't want a cure....I reckon it's the most relaxing feeling in the world. Never have a stressful day at work after a morning surf.

I'm fine after a bar of chocolate and a 2 hour poppy nap. :)

That's why I don't surf before work. I'm likely to crash after lunch. Zzzzz

Used to happen a lot to me after 5 hours in the sun playing golf in my 30's so don't stress.
20 years later I try to have hi protein brekky , and sports drink to hydrate, before a surf,, and maybe more protein after a good surf... I think it helps?,,, can sometimes get an ordinary game of squash in, later in the day. Alcohol kills me,, but

you might have diabetes Waveless, that's a classic "low". If you're under thirty it probably isn't but might be worth checking out mate.

interesting point, i've been borderline for years, and do get those 'lows', (I thought it was normal after sport).
But watch diet and exercise.. and only being borderline, being careful with diet helps..

Cheers Bakesy, may follow up the doc on that. Have been thinking about it but I consider myself relatively healthy so hopefully that is not the case. Will take all your other advices on food and surf but! Don't remember it being this bad when in Indo

Ditch work and go for another surf, then curl into a ball on the couch, Sort of works, well really just delays it until tomorrow.

I have a couple of bananas & a big mug of coffee for brekky. Then a big tin of sardines on toast or a sandwich with heaps of chicken. That keeps me going & I'm 41. Could be all the homebrew beer I drink though ...my probs that damn sun, I have to put aloe vera around my eyes coz the solar keratosis is getting pretty bad.

...........I love that charged up feeling you get in winter, never get cold after you've been surfing that day
